My family goes camping with a few of our friends and all of our kids several times each summer. Our first trip this summer was to the Yogi Bear Campground in Millbrook, Illinois. My first impression from the street was that it was going to be a very small and average campground (even the enterance sign was hidden behind trees so you could miss it easily). But I have to say that I was pleasently surprised by how nice and family orientated this campground is.
Camping Lots
A majority of the sites have concrete patios, picnic tables and fire pits that are in the ground. This Yogi Bear Campground has very well kept up grounds and very clean easy to navigate driveway/streets. There are a great deal of RV/camper lots with full hookup and also a large tent area with electric and water hookup.
Amenities
This campground has two full size pools, a hot tub and baby pools. In addition, they have peddle go-carts, minigolf, hay rides, bingo, an outdoor theater, parks, and a game room. This is one of the perfect place to bring your family. We did not do everything because we were only here for a few days, but I believe almost all of the activities (obvious exceptions being bingo and game room) were included in the fee for camping. They even have Yogi Bear, Boo Boo Bear, and Cindy Bear at many of the events throughout the weekend!
Cabins
One of our friends used the cabins here during our stay. We were able to go and check it out. The cabins are well kept and have plenty of sleeping room and all the necessities of home. If you don't have a camper and don't want to rough it in a tent, then I would definitely checkout the cabins at Yogi Bear in Millbrook.
Staff:
The staff at Yogi Bear is mostly teens and early 20-somethings that are there for summer jobs. That being said, the staff was very professional and knowledgeable. We had one issue with younger couples blaring music from one of the cabins near the park. (music with profanity and racial lyrics). Most of the time as long as it's not near us, we don't complain. While they were not camping near us, they were close to a park with very inappropriate music for young children at the park to hear. So we told the staff at the front desk, and they took care of it immediately. They are very kid-friendly at this Yogi Bear campground.
