Autumn Lakes Family Campground in Sunbury, Ohio was a new trip for us in the summer of 2013.  The Campground is about 7.5 to 8 hours from the Chicago area so we scheduled a couple extra days out there.

My rule of thumb is if it's further than 4 hours drive, I like to spend a couple extra days before driving home. For this trip we arrived on a Thursday and stay until Sunday.  Autumn Lakes was recommended to us from a family member and we were very pleased with the campground!

Camping Lots & Cabins:

The camping lots were very clean and provided a private patio type experience for each camper.  The lots allow full hook up for tenters, travel trailers and RV's.   They also have cabins available, but we did not go into the cabins. So I can speack to how nice they are or not.

Amenities:

Overall Autumn Lakes is a very quiet campground.  They have a nice sized pool with a nearby splashpad for the kids.  In addition, there is a really nice park which was really close to our lot which was rally nice.  They do movies at night in the pavillion, there is a lake for fishing and a convenience shop.

Staff:

The staff at Autumn Lakes was very nice and knowledgable.  I had read a couple reviews of people not being happy with the staff, but we had a very nice experience with them.  There were never any issues and a couple of times they went out of their way to help us out.

Overall Rating: 4/5 campers

This campground gets a 4 campers from me.  It was very enjoyable to go to a campground and truly relax!  Many of the places we visit have a so many things to do that if we spend all our time doing them, we're not really relaxing.  Autumn Lakes had just the right amount of activities to keep us entertained and happy, and at the same time we were able to spend time relaxing and fishing.  I would 100% recommend Autumn Lakes Campground.
